The cornerstone of St. Joseph Catholic
Church was laid in 1888, providing a firm and stable foundation for the brick
and mortar that make up this Gothic structure.
Ever since, St. Joseph Catholic Church
has provided a firm and lasting foundation for the hundreds of families and
thousands of parishioners who have passed across its threshold. Its simple yet noble steeple rises above
Crestline as a beacon of hope and faithfulness to the entire Crestline community.
The
Present…
As St.
Joseph prepares to commemorate its 150th
anniversary in 2011, significant repairs and improvements are needed in order
to ensure that this beacon of hope and faith continues to illuminate the
Crestline community for years to come.Replacing the roofs on our Church, NorthSchool
and Rectory, enhancing the interior of the Church including painting, plastering,
carpeting, stenciling, statue refurbishing and repairing of moisture damage have
all been identified as major needs.Tuck-pointing, sealing and painting the exterior of the Church is also a
critical need.
Amidst these
pressing needs, there also is an genuine love and enthusiasm on behalf of the
parish and alumni community to join together and confidently step into the
future and confront these challenges.The
time is now, and with God’s grace, we are ready!
The
Future…
It is with these challenges in mind that
the parish community of St. Joseph Catholic Church officially embraces “St. Joseph’s Dream:Faith, Family, Future”.This three year capital campaign is needed to
raise the funds that are necessary to make significant repairs and
improvements.As our parish community
steps boldly into our future, we pray that our merciful and compassionate Lord
to grant us the courage and trust of St. Joseph, our Patron, as we embark on
this daunting, yet exciting journey.
